Health & Fitness

Accountability is key on this new journey

I took a big step yesterday and started the Dukan diet. After researching the web and talking to many people, AND trying a gazillion diets I decided on the Dukan Diet. Designed by a French Doctor. I'm doing it because I want to be healthier, lessen my portions, and get rid of unwanted weight. It's amazing how getting married, having kids, moving away from a major city (meaning driving everywhere), loving cooking & baking  and traveling a lot can add a muffin top to your waist. I also have another wonderful reason: my daughter is getting married in November and I'd like to feel good.
It's been pretty easy so far. The first 3 to 7 days (depending on how much weight you have to lose) . It has some similarities to the Atkins diet however this one has no fat allowed which to me is a healthier option. There are 4 stages: Attack phase, Cruise phase, Consolidation phase and Stabilization phase. At first I thought it would be hard giving up my fruit and carbs, I know it's only day 2 however so far I haven't cheated at all.

I'll continue posting recipes and should you have questions please contact me anytime...Bon Appetit
