Do you suffer from headaches?

Headaches are one of the most common problems reported by people and causes countless lost hours of productivity.  If you have headaches, you’re not alone. Nine out of ten Americans suffer from headaches, and they frequently effect women more than men.  Some headaches are occasional, some frequent, some are dull and throbbing, and some cause debilitating pain and nausea.  Most headaches are caused by irritation to the muscles, joints and nerves in the neck, which can produce pain and symptoms in the head as well as the neck.  Irritation to the muscles and joints in the neck is usually due to subtle postural problems which cause misalignments in the vertebra called Subluxations.  These problems are found frequently in people with computer intensive jobs, people who lift repetitively, text, play video games, and talk frequently on the phone.

What do you do when you suffer from a pounding headache? Do you grit your teeth and carry on? Lie down? Pop a pill and hope the pain goes away?  There is a better alternative. Research shows that Chiropractic adjustment or spinal manipulation – the primary form of care provided by Chiropractors –  as effective treatment option for tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.

A report released in 2001 by researchers at the Duke University Evidence-Based Practice Center in Durham, NC, found that spinal manipulation resulted in almost immediate improvement for those headaches that originate in the neck, and had significantly fewer side effects and longer-lasting relief of tension-type headache than a commonly prescribed medication.

Dr Joseph Merckling is a chiropractor trained in assessing your postural distortions and showing you how to help correct these problems to minimize headaches and other aches and pains in your life.  Don’t let pain interfere with you life! Take it back with chiropractic care.

Your barking dog complaint in North Patchogue is handled by Public Safety, Town of Broohaven. CallRead More them at 451-6161 and they will take action. The first time the owners will be warned, the next time they will receive a summons.

Don't know what the Town ordnance is, but if you live within the Village of Patchogue, I believeRead More there is a "15 minute rule" in the code. Basically, if the dog is barking for more than 15 continuous minutes, it's a violation subject to a fine. Call public safety at 475-1225. Keep in mind it's probably not their first priority (unless the dog has a bad attitude, and is carrying a weapon), but they will be responsive, eventually.
