Beyer Survives To Cook Another Week On Hell's Kitchen

Sachem alum struggles during cooking challenges, but makes it through to the next round.

After almost being eliminated last week, Barret Beyer, the Class of 1994 Sachem alum currently a contestant on Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” Beyer decided he needed to clear his head on Tuesday’s show.

In this case, literally.

Beyer, still frustrated after nearly serving raw chicken during the last dinner service, shaved his head and arrived at the next challenge telling Chef Gordon Ramsay that he is ready to work.

In the first challenge, the chefs had to face-off against each other by perfectly cooking a steak and creating a rub to spice the meat. When Beyer faced off against the female team’s Ja’Nel, the men had a lead of 3-2 at that time. Ramsay ruled that Barret overcooked the steak and gave the point to Ja’nel, tying them up 3-3. The women then won the final face-off, winning them a day at the pool and punishing the male team with a day of butchering a large, dead cow for steak.

Following the loss, the male team held an intervention to call out Beyer and two other members for their losses during the challenge, which team member Zach was showed repeating continuously.

“I know I (expletive) up, you don’t need to keep repeating it,” Beyer said regarding the situation during a diary room session to the camera.

Things did not improve for Beyer during the steak night dinner service challenge.
Beyer misunderstood the first order of the night given by Ramsay, and started to fry two crab cakes when none were ordered. As dinner service moved to entrees, Beyer was shown cracking under the pressure and having difficulty pushing out food.

“I’m exhausted right now, feeling like I’ve been hit by an 18-wheeler,” Beyer said.

Ultimately Beyer stayed safe from elimination as no one from the men’s team was thrown out of the kitchen, and they won the challenge.

By contrast, the female team had four members thrown out of the kitchen for issues such as hair being found in the sliders and steaks repeatedly not being cooked.

Chefs Amanda and Jacqueline were nominated for failing at keeping up the meat station, with Ramsay choosing to eliminate Jacqueline.

Previews for next Tuesday’s show have the chefs cooking at what appears to be a Quinceañera, which is a “Sweet 15” birthday celebration.
