Lance's Brewery Tour Film Coming to Blue Point Brewery Friday

Patchogue brewery is only Long Island stop in autistic man's journey to make film and book about beer.

Beer historian Lance Rice is currently visiting over 60 breweries across the country as part of his documentary film, “Lance’s Brewery Tour,” and Blue Point Brewery in Patchogue is going to be the production’s only Long Island stop this Friday.

Rice, who happens to be autistic, has spent 40 years of his life memorizing beers and brewery history. A Kickstarter was successfully used from May 13 to June 15 to fund the project, which will have Rice travel to breweries in New York, Ohio, Massachusetts, Delaware and Pennsylvania as part of the film’s production. A book of the journey is also going to be published.

Rice and his nephew Aaron Rice, who is directing the film, will be at the Patchogue brewery Friday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. for a Happy Hour event.
