Dear Residents of Patchogue Village:
A community letter from Lisa Ihne, candidate for Village Trustee with Residents First.
My name is Lisa Ihne, and I am a candidate for Village Trustee on the Residents First slate. My running mates and I have a strong desire to serve the community. Our collective abilities, knowledge, and experience make us a well-balanced, highly capable team that will bring positive changes to Patchogue Village.
A fourth-generation resident of Patchogue, I love the Village and its community. As a Village trustee, I would proudly and energetically represent the people of Patchogue Village. Community service is a passion of mine. It has been my great pleasure to belong to the Woman’s Club of Patchogue and to volunteer at St. Ursula Convent. In the position of Village Trustee, I would make the most of new opportunities to serve Patchogue.
I am a lifelong learner who has always worked hard and welcomed challenges. Recently I earned a doctoral degree in Educational Administration. As an Elementary Principal, I oversee a school that has approximately 90 employees and 400 students. My leadership style is open and democratic. I encourage people to share their views and ideas, and I am proud of the relationships I have built with all stakeholders. As a Village trustee, I would continue to act on my belief that progress is based on communication, cooperation, and respect for others.

As a trustee, I would uphold the integrity of public office and do my utmost to improve the quality of life in Patchogue Village. I would represent all members of the community, putting the needs of residents over the interests of out-of-town developers. I would make it a top priority to reduce taxes by eliminating wasteful spending, streamlining operations, and hiring a management company to run the Patchogue Theatre. I also would support improved services for the Village’s senior citizens.
I am confident that my abilities, knowledge, experience, and commitment to public service will serve the Village well and effectively. Together we can accomplish much for Patchogue Village. I look forward to meeting many of you in the course of the campaign leading up to the March 2012 election, and I hope I will have the opportunity to serve you in the position of Village trustee. Thank you for your support.
