Former Patchogue Kiwanis Member Gets Boy Scout Award

Albert Norato, Jr receives Boys Scouts Good Deed Award.

Albert E Norato, Jr. (from left) , the current Governor of the New York District of Kiwanis International is shown here receiving the Boys Scouts Good Deed Award. Presenting the award is Council Executive, Dirk Smith, of the Suffolk County Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Norato, a resident of Oakdale, initiated his service to the youth of the community after joining the Patchogue Kiwanis Club where he rose
to the position of Club President and then Lt Governor of the Suffolk East Division of Kiwanis. Now a member of the Sayville Kiwanis Club, his service to Kiwanis and its devotion to serving children accelerated his  rise to his current position of Governor of all the clubs in the state of New York. As a Boy Scout himself, Mr. Norato has had a life long devotion to the Boy Scout organization.

Looking on is Dr. Robert Borowski, President of the Kiwanis Club of Patchogue. Dr. Borowski is advisor to the Patchogue Medford High School Venture Crew 1776 a Boy Scout organization designated for high schools. He is also an awardee of the Boy Scouts of America having received both the Silver Beaver Award and Venturing Leadership Award.

The Good Deed Award was presented at a ceremony during a dinner held at the Bellport Country Club. Members of the Patchogue Kiwanis and the Patchogue Rotary attended in support of the Boy Scouting organization.
