Reminder: Services For Jerry Avellino Thursday

Two services for Village chief code enforcement officer taking place Thursday; Mass is on Saturday.

Services for Jerry Avellino, the Patchogue Village chief code enforcement officer who passed away last week, are taking place at Robertaccio's Funeral Home, 85 Medford Ave. in Patchogue, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

Mass for Avellino is going to be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph the Worker RC Church, 510 Narrangansett Ave. in East Patchogue.

Residents have been reminiscing Avellino, who was also seen working security at Patchogue-Medford Library.

"Jerry and I go back a long way, we both served as National Officers in the U.S. Section of the International Police Association for many years. Never had the pleasure of meeting you Lauren but you and your family have my deepest sympathy. God Bless!," wrote Edward Watson in the comments of Monday's obit article.

"Mr. Avellino was a long time customer of ours, who we came to build a friendship. He was a gentleman and great guy all around. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences to his family," wrote Dwayne and JoAnn Stephani on Patchogue Village's Facebook Page.
