A Chance To Say 'Thank You'

Patch gives local residents the opportunity to thank someone for helping them during Hurricane Sandy.

It has been more than two weeks since Hurricane Sandy impacted the lives of all Long Islanders.

From horrific flood damage of entire neighborhoods, to widespread power outages and gas lines, the historic storm changed how many residents live.

But through the challenges presented by Sandy, families, friends and entire communities rallied around each other sharing homes and hot meals while donating an untold amount of clothing, food and money to those most in need.

As we approach Thanksgiving and the holiday season, Patch wants to give readers an opportunity to publicly thank those who helped them navigate the rough waters that Sandy brought ashore.

In our comment section below, please list whom you would like to thank. We’re asking our readers to keep comments to the positive as we saw first hand people rallying to help others in their community.

Patchogue Village employees who did a terrific job during and after the storm. Fire Dept too! As a matter of fact village employees are always polite and helpful.

Where does one start? Village Employees, ALL Depts., Village Hall Staff, Public Works, Public Safety, Highway, Sanitation - Fire Dept. Personnel, Ambulance Personnel and of course the humanity of all the neighbors helping each other, regardless of what section of the Village you live in. Everyone pulled together, for the most part, to get thru this together. With the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching all we can wish for is continued health and rebuilding our future.

I'm not accusing anyone of "faking it". http://www.coachoutletonlinegg.com My point is that our Pompeii - like most classical http://www.coachoutletonlineaol.net sites, in fact - is the product of collaboration between http://www.coachfactoryoutletwy.com modern rebuilders and conservators, and the original Roman builders http://www.coachoutletstorefc.com themselves, with the lion's share of the work on our side. And it's no less impressive or moving http://www.coachoutletaol.org for that - as the body casts help to show. One of http://www.coachfactoryonlineest.net the video clips played in the exhibition at the Getty Museum comes http://www.coachfactoryoutletpst.com from Roberto Rossellini's film, Voyage in Italy, in which the lead couple, http://www.coachfactoryoutlettx.com played by Ingrid Bergman and George Sanders, tour the country as their marriage http://www.coachfactoryonlinefc.org disintegrates. On their visit to Pompeii they watch the plaster being http://www.coachoutletwy.com poured into a cavity left by two of the victims. http://www.coachoutletonlineybw.com In the movie's most haunting scene, these victims emerge as a couple.
