I think the residents of the Patchogue, Medford Neighborhood could use a store to help save money.
The area has a glut of discount 99 Cent, Dollar Tree, Super Saver, Salvation Army, Goodwill, and second hand stores. It's obvious the area economic base is not with Bloomingdales or Macy's.
I am sure Walmart buys their goods at the same places K-Mart and Kohl's get theirs. This store employees American workers and is owned by American's. No one complained when and built their Mega Stores.
I rarely shop in downtown Patchogue as there is only a few stores that sell what I want. I shop at Gateway Plaza, the Bellport outlets and wherever I can get a deal for my money. How many of you really shop in downtown Patchogue? I go there for the Theatre and Restaurants, which are great!
I am retired and need to save as much as possible. Walmart will help me realize that goal. My son lives in Parkland, Florida, a near perfect community of expensive and moderately priced homes in a well planned community of parks and lakes.
A large Walmart store is in this community and everyone shops there. Rich folks and poor folks can save in the same store.
What's your opinion?
