Kite flying festival at Shortfront Park.

Wet tee shirt and taco eating contests

NO! WE NEED CLASSIER EVENTS IN PATCHOGUE!! AN OLD FASHIONED FAIR, A CLAM BAKE, A SEAFOOD FESTIVAL. WE ARE A SHOREFRONT COMMUNITY! LOOK HOW UGLY OUR SHOREFRONT PARK IS! WE NEED PATCHOGUE PRIDE!! CLASS IT UP AROUND HERE!!! ENOUGH WITH THE DRUNK PEOPLE THROWING UP ON PEOPLE'S LAWNS! WHAT ABOUT A SEASIDE ART SHOW OR A RIVERFRONT FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS?

FIREWORKS!!!!!!

Lantern Festival at Shorefront Park

Something "wholesome" on Main Street would be a nice summer event. Something that families could attend without being subjected to drinking and drunks. An old car show in combination with summer foods (hot dogs, corn on the cob, seafood...), activities for kids and a nice craft fair. Alive After 5 was very nice the first year or two but now it is a mess. I will no longer attend with younger family members, because I don't like them to see the behavior of some of the people who are there. Also, I have seen the police needed several times at these events. Keep Alive After 5 for the drinking crowd but come up with some nicer festivals for families. BTW, parking was horrendous for the last Alive After 5.

Amanda, I see you are looking to raise funds. If your interested I can work out a Pampered Chef,Read More fundraiser for you? Your friends and family shop for themselves as they would at a party, but instead of you earning FREE product, you will earn funds. As long as it can be made payable to an organization/team or school. We can set you up on Facebook and everyone orders right from their couch! Let me know :) Patricia S My business page: www.facebook.com/luvz2cook4u

Your barking dog complaint in North Patchogue is handled by Public Safety, Town of Broohaven. CallRead More them at 451-6161 and they will take action. The first time the owners will be warned, the next time they will receive a summons.

Don't know what the Town ordnance is, but if you live within the Village of Patchogue, I believeRead More there is a "15 minute rule" in the code. Basically, if the dog is barking for more than 15 continuous minutes, it's a violation subject to a fine. Call public safety at 475-1225. Keep in mind it's probably not their first priority (unless the dog has a bad attitude, and is carrying a weapon), but they will be responsive, eventually.
