Alive After Five 2013 ®: Round 2 this Thursday July 25

The next edition of Alive After Five 2013® is happening this Thursday, July 25 from 5-9pm.

 As anyone who came to the last one will tell you, our first one this year was an incredible evening we look forward to repeat this Thursday. Over 10,000 people came down to Main Street over the course of the evening. We know this since we went through 6,000 bracelets we use for those under 18. And since the adults outnumbered the kids that night, 10,000 is an underestimate of who came down.

We really appreciated the family-friendly and relaxed vibe of the whole night and thankful a day that was forecast for rain and storms turned out to be a beautiful summer evening. We, at the Chamber, have become Doppler radar experts and knew all day we would be fine despite the forecast. And, right now, this Thursday’s weather just might be the nicest evening we have had in over a month; with temps in the mid 70’s, low humidity and no chance for Rain.

This Thursday features another incredible line-up of music. We are glad to bring back Tumi Arts, providing us the sounds and rhythm of Ecuador at the corner of Maple Avenue and Main Street. Public House 49 presents Urban Acoustics for your listening pleasure on the stage they share with Prerabell.  John, at the Village Idiot, promises me that Gnarly Head will rock the house at their stage. And please don’t miss a personal local fave band of mine, Jellyband, brought to us by the Brickhouse and sharing space with Bobbique.  Not enough? Well we at the Chamber will be bringing a surprise act, near the Tap Room that I promise will be a treat for all who check ‘em out.  When you include the dance performances happening at the Chamber Stage, just across from the Patchogue Theater, throughout the night, you have non-stop entertainment from one end of Main Street to the other.

With great food and specialty craft vendors all along the way, can you think of a better way to be outdoors on a beautiful summer evening?
