Update: DWI Accident Closes Sunrise

Two lanes of Sunrise close Wednesday morning.

A 1994 Jeep driven by a driver under the influence rolled over on Sunrise Highway around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, closing two lanes of Sunrise Highway near exit 53 for one hour and 35 minutes said the Suffolk County Sheriff's office.

The driver was bleeding from the head but was still conscious when found and taken to an unspecified hospital. The driver was also arrested on DWI charges.

The roadway has since been cleared and traffic is operating normal.
