Accidental Fire Damages Gordon Heights Home

No injuries reported, Gordon Heights and Medford Fire Departments among eight called to the scene.

A Gordon Heights home was engulfed in flames and severely damaged Monday morning.

A report in Newsday said that the fire began at 4:38 a.m. on Gray Avenue, and that the four occupants of the home were able to escape. No injuries were reported.

Suffolk County Police told Patch that the fire's cause was ruled as accidental electrical. Police also said in the report that the initial 911 call reported that a boiler room in the basement of the home filled with smoke.

Eight fire departments were reported on scene, including Gordon Heights, Medford, Middle Island, Coram, Selden, Yaphank, Farmingville and Ridge.
