Traffic was briefly closed Tuesday afternoon on East Main Street from the South Ocean Avenue intersection to Route 112 in Patchogue while the Patchogue Fire Department checked for a possible gas leak at the bank. No leak was found said a member of the fire department. The bank was evacuated during the investigation; no other businesses appeared to be affected.

The bank, at 115 E Main St., was declared safe to enter by the department at approximately 2:30 p.m. and traffic resumed on East Main Street. An employee of the bank said that they were outside of the building for approximately 30 minutes.
