Brief: Two Accidents on Route 112

Two separate car accidents occur within a half-mile of each other in the early evening.

Two car accidents occurred within a half-mile of each other on Route 112 Friday evening.

A three-car collision occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the Shaber Avenue intersection in Patchogue involving a 1997 Honda Civic that struck a 1996 Toyota and 2005 Nissan said Suffolk Police. The driver of the Honda attempted to leave the scene of the accident but was tracked down by police officers and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. Three people were transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

Within the hour, a second accident involving a Nissan and a Honda also occurred on Route 112 near the Morris Avenue intersection in Patchogue. The driver of the Honda was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.
