Written by Christine Sampson.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk police have arrested a Stony Brook man whom they said intentionally set a fire and stole several GPS devices, cellphones and other items.

Dylan Vitti, 21, faces 13 charges. Among them are a felony arson charge related to a Feb. 15 incident, in which he allegedly set a boat on fire in Centereach, and a felony grand larceny charge related to a July 15 incident, in which he allegedly stole credit cards, prescription pills, a cellphone, a GPS and other items from a pickup truck on Tuttle Creek Drive in Patchogue.

He was arrested July 17 at Shore Motor Inn on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue. Police also charged him with four charges of petty larceny, a misdemeanor, and seven charges of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, also a misdemeanor. He allegedly committed some of the thefts on Dogwood Road and North Prospect Avenue in Patchogue and in the Best Buy shopping center on Gateway Boulevard.

The Suffolk County district attorney's office did not respond to requests for Vitti's arraignment date, and could not say whether he posted bail or remains incarcerated.
