Cops: Patchogue Woman in Crash Was Drunk

Accident occurred late Thursday in Water Mill.

A Patchogue woman was drunk when she drove off the road and struck a tree in Water Mill on Thursday night, according to .

Police said 21-year-old Amanda Walters was driving a 1999 Hyundai on Montauk Highway at about 11:34 p.m. when she crashed near the Proprietors Lane intersection.

Walters was taken to and treated for minor injuries, then taken to police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and held for arraignment, police said.
