Crimes Nearby: Armed Robbery, Retail Stores Burglarized

Suffolk Police, Crime Stoppers seeking public's help in solving several incidents across the region.

Suffolk County Police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects in several incidents across the county.

• Eastport Gas Station Robbed

Police said two men armed with guns entered Valero located at 125 County Road 51, on March 23 at 12:03 a.m. and demanded cash. An employee handed over drawers from two cash registers and the men fled on foot.

One suspect was described as white, approximately 20 years old, wearing a green scarf and what appeared to be a black North Face jacket with a ski cap. The second suspect was wearing dark clothes and a dark ski cap, and carrying what appeared to be a black Nike string bag.

The two men were pacing near the bushes on the east side of the gas station for approximately 20 minutes before the robbery.

Police believe these suspects may be connected to another robbery at the same location on November 12, 2012.

• East Moriches Business Burglarized

According to police, a man pried open a door at the Carquest Auto Parts store, located at 532 Montauk Highway, on March 24 at approximately 4:45 a.m. and opened a cash register.

The suspect was described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, heavyset, with a mustache. He is in his late 30s to early 40s. He was wearing black clothing, a dark knit cap and dark gloves.

• Laptop Stolen From Riverhead Staples

According to police, a black male entered the Staples store, located at 1087 Old Country Road, and stole an HP laptop on February 21, at 2:56 p.m. The man was wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo and a puffy coat.

• Pt. Jefferson Hardware Store Burglarized

Police said a man entered Sears Hardware, located at 5137 Route 347, and stole a battery charger and 74-piece tool set with a combined value of $280 on March 26 at 8:40 p.m. The man fled the store through the entrance as a female accomplice activated the sensors to open the door. The two fled in a white U-Haul pickup truck on Route 347.

The man was described as white, approximately 40 years old, 6 feet, 2 inches tall with a medium build and a blond ponytail. The woman was described as approximately 30 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 140 pounds. She had a dark complexion with long, dark curly hair and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

• Bay Shore Home Burglarized

According to police, two men wearing masks and armed with handguns, entered a home on Lockwood Road in Bay Shore on November 27, 2012, at 10 p.m. The men demanded money from an adult female resident and threatened to injure six children, ages 7 to 15, who were also in the home.  One of the suspects pistol-whipped the woman. The men fled with electronics and the victim’s debit card.

A short time later, three men went to Spin City Laundromat, located at 1466 Straight Path in Wyandanch, where one of the men was seen using the stolen debit card inside.

One of the burglary suspects was described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with medium build and a medium complexion. The second burglary suspect was described as 6 feet to 6 feet 1inch tall with a medium build and a dark complexion. Both suspects were wearing all black clothing.
