E. Patchogue Man Wants Guardrail After Vehicles Crash Through Backyard

A school bus crashing through man's Woodside Avenue backyard and two other crashes leads to his request.

An East Patchogue man is asking for a guardrail after three separate vehicles have crashed into his backyard on Woodside Avenue.

According to a News 12 report, Chris DiRusso is asking Brookhaven Town and Suffolk County to install the guard rail after an unloaded school bus crashed through two weeks ago, a 2007 incident in which a car clipped his fence and a 2004 incident in which a car went through his backyard.

“We constantly deal with high speed traffic and the day of the accident I was home with my son and it sounded like a bomb had gone off in the backyard,” DiRusso said in an News 12 interview referring to the most recent crash.
