An East Patchogue man is asking for a guardrail after three separate vehicles have crashed into his backyard on Woodside Avenue.
According to a News 12 report, Chris DiRusso is asking Brookhaven Town and Suffolk County to install the guard rail after an unloaded school bus crashed through two weeks ago, a 2007 incident in which a car clipped his fence and a 2004 incident in which a car went through his backyard.
“We constantly deal with high speed traffic and the day of the accident I was home with my son and it sounded like a bomb had gone off in the backyard,” DiRusso said in an News 12 interview referring to the most recent crash.
DiRusso said he and his son looked out their window and saw the bus in the backyard.
According to the report, the county’s Department of Public Works have said a traffic study and decision on guardrails can take several months.
