Emergency Workers Repairing Damages Post-Irene

Volunteers help maintain order, provide rescue and help cleanup to the Village.

Volunteer firefighters from Patchogue and North Patchogue fire departments could be seen along the flooded streets of Patchogue Village today.

They were joined by Patchogue and Medford Ambulance Companies, Patchogue Village Public Safety, Patchogue Village Parks and Recreation Department, American Red Cross and the Suffolk County Police Department to help secure and protect the flooded areas as well provide rescue and medical assistance if necessary.

One volunteer firefighter who wished to remain anonymous stated that they had been on call for 24 hours already and would remain there until everything was back to normal.
