Home Invasion Suspects Arraigned

The three suspects from Patchogue invaded a North Bellport home Friday.

The three Patchogue residents arrested Friday for the invasion of a North Bellport home were arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Greg Jackson, 23, of 383 S. Ocean Ave. in Patchogue and Jason Chambers, 19, of 863 Taylor Ave. in East Patchogue remain in custody while 16-year-old Michael Scott, of 718 Taylor Ave. in East Patchogue was released on $2,500 cash bail, according to Riverhead jail records. Chambers originally was arrested under the name Jason Moore.

This past Friday evening, Jackson, Chambers and Scott were walking on Bourdois Avenue in North Bellport when Jackson allegedly pulled out a loaded gun and "waved it at a crowd," according to Suffolk County police. He then purportedly threatened to use the .380 caliber weapon on a person living on the block, passing the gun to Chambers.

Police were notified at approximately 6:08 p.m., and the three men ran to a house close by.  Jackson hid behind the residence while Scott and Chambers entered the home, despite the 56-year-old resident's attempt to prevent them from entering, according to police.

Fleeing from the house, the resident notified police of the situation. Law enforcement officials arrested Chambers and Scott inside the home, while Jackson was captured behind the house, according to police. Scott was found in possession of the gun at the time of the arrest.

The three men were arraigned before Judge Toni Bean and will return to the Central Islip court again on Sept. 2, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota's office.

Jackson, who is being charged by fifth squad detectives with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, had bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. The DA requested $100,000 bail for Jackson.
