Man Arrested for Patchogue Bank Robbery

Brentwood man entered plea of not guilty for robbery.

A Brentwood man was arrested Tuesday on charges of robbery in the third degree for allegedly robbing the TD Bank in Patchogue on Oct. 27, according to Suffolk County Police.

Luis Santana, 33, entered a plea of not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday at the First District Court in Central Islip and is currently being held in Suffolk County jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash bail, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. Santana is being represented by a public defender.

The robbery occured at approximately 12:34 p.m. at the bank at 251 East Main St., police reported. A man handed a bank teller a note demanding money, which the teller complied with by handing cash over from the drawer. The man then fled the bank on foot, traveling southbound to Main Street, law enforcement authorities said. The amount of money taken was not released.
