Man Charged For Driving Stolen Truck In Patchogue Mugshot Released

Matthew Roy faces DWI, reckless driving, fleeing police officer, criminal mischief and grand larceny charges.

The mugshot of Matthew Roy, who police have charged with reportedly driving a stolen truck into a car parked at a Patchogue car dealership as well as through Holtsville, Patchogue, Medford and Yaphank early Friday morning has been released by Suffolk County Police.

As previously reported police say Roy, 22 of Manorville, allegedly drove a 2000 Isuzu truck stolen from a Center Moriches business Thursday. Roy was pursued by police on Sunrise Highway after a 911 call reported a landscaping truck swerving on the westbound side of Sunrise Highway in Yaphank. Officers started pursuing Roy at 12:19 a.m. Friday during which police say he refused to pull over, struck a parked car at a Patchogue car dealership, damaged two police vehicles, left the vehicle in Holtsville at the Fairview Avenue and 13th Street intersection and fled into the woods where he was arrested at 12:40 a.m.

Police say Roy has been charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, two counts of criminal mischief in the second degree, one count of criminal mischief in the third degree and one count of grand larceny in the third degree.
