Man Pleads Guilty To Stealing Beer

John McFarland to serve ten days for public consumption.

John McFarland plead guilty at Patchogue Village Court Thursday for petit larceny (theft) and consuming alcohol in public.

Village Justice Christopher McGuire said during the proceeding that McFarland was arrested in front of Laundry Kingdom on Main Street, Patchogue on April 24. Suffolk County Police said McFarland's petit larceny charge was the result of stealing a malt beverage.

McFarland received a 45-day sentence for the theft charge, and an additional 10-day sentence for consuming the alcoholic beverage in public. McFarland will serve 10 consecutive days for the consumption charge, while the remaining time was dismissed due to satisfaction.
