Man Shot Outside Patchogue Bar in Critical Condition

Shooting early Thanksgiving morning took place outside Attitudes Bar and Grill, police say.

A Central Islip man was shot outside of a Patchogue bar early Thursday morning, police said.

Maurice James, 30, was shot in the torso while standing outside of Attitudes Bar and Grill, at 485 Waverly Ave., at 1:50 a.m. following an altercation with other individuals, police said.

James was transported in a private vehicle to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery and was listed in critical condition.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances that led to the altercation outside the bar and are asking anyone with information to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
