Medford FD Hosting Family Open House Friday

Event taking place from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

The Medford Fire Department is hosting its fourth annual Fire Prevention Family Open House Friday at its 171 Oregon Avenue location.

The event, taking place from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. is organized by the department's fire members, Ladies Auxiliary members and Junior members.

The event features free hot dogs, juice, chips and popcorn. Face painting, child finger printing ID's, practice drills in fire prevention safety and various demonstrations including how to put out fires will be taking place.

A fire safety poster and essay contests are also being held with submissions from Eagle Elementary School and Tremont Elementary School on display. Winners of the poster contest will receive a new bicycle and helment, while winners of the essay contest will receive a Kindle Touch.
