Report: Medford Fire Kills Pets, No Other Injuries

Residents were not home during a Sunday house fire in Medford, reports Newsday.

A Medford house fire on Robinson Avenue on Sunday evening led to the deaths of several family pets, officials told Newsday.

The residents were not home when the fire started at around 4:47 p.m., and no firefighters were reported injured from the blaze either.

The fire reportedly burned for two-and-a-half hours before being extinguished, damaging the home's second floor.

The Medford Fire Department was on scene aided by North Patchogue, Holtsville and Hagerman.

Brookhaven fire marshals are investigating the currently unannounced cause of the fire. Patch has reached out to Brookhaven Town and will update if any new information from the fire arises.
