Medford Man Killed In Car Crash

Crash took place early Monday morning.

A single-vehicle crash killed a Medford man early Monday morning on Express Drive North just west of Route 112 in Medford, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, Devin Velastegui, 22, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer westbound on Express Drive North when he lost control of his vehicle at 4:48 a.m., which overturned several times and ejected Velastegui.

Velastegui was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.

The rescue crews came by at 8am so there is no way the accident happened that early

My husband is a Medford fireman and yes the accident did happen that early.
