N. Patchogue Man Fatally Struck By Car

Daniel Barosa was attempting to cross Waverly Avenue in North Patchogue when he was struck, police say.

A 32-year-old North Patchogue man was struck and killed by a car early Thursday morning, police said. 

According to police, Daniel Barosa, was crossing Waverly Avenue in front of the Waverly Point Plaza Shopping Center across from Johnson Road in North Patchogue when he was struck by a 2009 Honda Accord that was traveling southbound on Waverly Avenue around 2:05 a.m.

Barosa was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Accord, Robert Myers, 29, of Patchogue, and his 5-year-old son, who was a passenger, were not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
