A Bayport woman is charged with DWI and several infractions following an accident Sunday night and is due in Suffolk First District Court on June 4.   

According to police, Madeline Higgins was driving a Chrysler 300 on Snedecor Avenue in Bayport at about 11:15 p.m. when she hit three vehicles, a tree and then drove her car onto the McConnell Avenue railroad tracks where the car got stuck.   

The 20-year-old is charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, obstructing a highway railroad crossing, refusal to take a breathalyzer and failure to obey a police officer.

As of Thursday morning Higgins was being held $4,000 bond/$2,000 cash bail and was represented by a Legal Aid lawyer, according to a county criminal database.
