Old Broadway Avenue residents arrested and charged after teen suffers alcohol poisoning.

A Sayville couple was arrested early Sunday morning for endangering the welfare of a minor who suffered alcohol poisoning during a party taking place on the couple's property on Old Broadway Avenue, according to Suffolk Police.

According to police the arrest took place at 1:33 a.m. Police said they responded to a 911 caller who reported that a 16-year-old female had become sick from alcohol poisoning in an apartment separate from the couple's home. Upon arrival police said they found evidence of a beer drinking game, shot glasses and more than two dozen underage teens in the apartment.

Police said some of the teens were visibly intoxicated and witnesses stated that large quantities of vodka had been consumed. According to police, the couple’s 16-year-old daughter had invited friends to the home after an event held at St. Anthony’s High School. Several of the guests, said police, were teens who did not know the girl but had heard about the party.
