Nearby: Police Seeking Hit-And-Run Driver Striking Teenager

Suffolk County Police are seeking out a man suspected of striking a 14-year-old boy on May 11 with a silver minivan in Shirley.

Police say that a 14-year-old boy was crossing William Floyd Parkway at Roberts Road on his bike at around 10:30 a.m. on May 11 when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver, who police say was a black man, got out of the vehicle briefly before fleeing the scene. The teenager was treated at Stony Brook University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information about this crime or the vehicle involved to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220 TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
