A man police say went on a three-day robbery spree was apprehended in Farmingville this weekend.

Suffolk County Police say Joseph Tusa, of Centereach, stole a vehicle and committed four robberies between April 17 and April 19, in Centereach and Selden.

According to police, on April 17 Tusa, 35, allegedly jumped into a vehicle that was left running at the Centereach Mall and roughly 30 minutes later robbed Robie's Cards and Gifts on Middle Country Road by claiming he had a weapon and demanding cash from the register.

On April 19, police say Tusa went back to Robie's and once again demanded cash by claiming to have a weapon. This time, the employee refused and Tusa fled the scene. About six minutes later Tusa allegedly entered the OK Petroleum station, also on Middle Country Road and used the same M.O. The employees at OK Patroleum refused to hand over the cash and Tusa fled the store.

Moments later, police say Tusa was more successful at Sue's Cardsmart in Selden. After receiving cash from the employee at the store, Tusa fled in the stolen vehicle.

Later on that day, Sixth Precinct Officer Todd Hughes spotted the stolen vehicle on College Road in Farmingville and with the assistance of other police officers from the Sixth Precinct, stopped the vehicle and arrested Tusa.

Tusa was charged with two counts of Robbery 3rd Degree, Attempted Robbery 3rd Degree, Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on April 20.
