Winners of fire prevention poster and essay contests announced.

More than 2,000 people were estimated to have attended the third annual  Friday evening. 

The family fun event was host to face painting, raffles, giveaways, snacks, as well as various fire safety demonstrations, fingerprinting for children and educational activities were held.

Winners of the Patchogue-Medford school district fire prevention poster and essay contests were announced. Aidan Weiler and Kelsey McCovern from Tremont Elementary School each won a bicycle for their poster entries. Emily Le, Christian Bouclreau, and Maria Barrera from Eagle Elementary School also earned bicycles for their entries. Fifth graders Alexus Seegan (Eagle) and Elizabeth Miller (Tremont) each won an iPod for their essays on fire prevention.

The Medford Fire Safety and Education Committee organized the event with the support of the fire department and the Medford Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners.
