Police: 87-Year-Old Crashes Into Patchogue Building After 'Medical Emergency'

An 87-year-old Patchogue man was seriously injured after he "apparently suffered a medical emergency" and crashed his car into a Patchogue building Wednesday morning, police said. 

According to police, Felix Bisogno was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Route 112 when his vehicle crossed over into the northbound lanes, north of Vernon Street, and struck a commercial building around 9:30 a.m. 

The crash caused minor damage to Cedarhurst Paper and Rocco’s Pizza, police said.

Bisogno was transported by the North Patchogue Fire Department to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
