Police: Center Moriches Teacher Charged With DWAI After Hit-and-Run Crash

A Center Moriches teacher from Patchogue was arrested Monday morning after police say she was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she struck an unoccupied vehicle and then fled the scene. 

According to police, Tracey Forman, 47, was driving a 2013 Hyundai when her vehicle struck a Plymouth Voyager that was parked off the roadway at 210 Brookfield Avenue in Center Moriches around 8:30 a.m. 

Forman fled the scene, but after obtaining a description of her vehicle, Seventh Precinct officer Robert Tedesco located Forman and her car in the rear parking lot of Center Moriches High School, located at 311 Frowein Road, police said.

Forman is charged with driving while ability impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident. She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
