Police: Duo Arrested for Burglarizing Homes In Patchogue, Medford

Written by Judy Mottl.

Police have arrested Friday a Medford man and Shirley woman who they say are responsible for burglarizing multiple homes along the south shore, including residences in Patchogue, East Patchogue, Medford and Sayville, in the past six months.

The duo, Richard Neumann and Jessica King, who police describe as acquaintances, allegedly stole jewelry and electronic items as well as cash during 12 burglaries, 10 of which happened in the month of July, according to Suffolk Police.

Fifth Squad detectives said items were recovered at the time of the arrest and that the burglaries took place at un-occupied homes. Police say a key element in the arrest was the report of a green car that was seen leaving the scene of one of the burglaries.

Neumann, 29, of Medford, is charged with 12 counts of burglary in the second degree. King, 23, of Shirley, was charged with seven counts of burglary in the second degree and criminal possession of Stolen Property.

Both were scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
