Police: Fatal Shooting In Medford Burglary

Injured man was shot in face, police said.

Two men were shot, one fatally, at a Medford home Wednesday night during a burglary, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, a 911 caller reported that two men had entered a Gray Avenue home around 10:45 p.m., and after a struggle with a resident began shooting. When police arrived they found Jeremy Phillips, 25 of Coram, dead from a gunshot wound.

A resident of the home, Jermel Bonaparte, 28, was shot in the face and taken to an unidentified hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
