Police: House Fire Kills Woman in E. Patchogue

Fire at home on Munsell Road claims the life of woman inside.

A woman died in an East Patchogue house fire Tuesday morning, according to police. 

Police and firefighters responded to 69 Munsell Road after a neighbor called 911 to report seeing smoke coming from the home at 7:57 a.m., police said.

Two firefighters were able to enter the home and remove a female occupant. The woman, the only person inside the home at the time of the fire, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The woman’s identity will be determined following an autopsy by the medical examiner. Arson Section detectives are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fire.
