Police: Medford Man Arrested After Stabbing

Juan Ramos faces an assault charge following incident Tuesday.

Police arrested a Medford man Tuesday night after they say he stabbed another man during an altercation. 

The incident occurred around 7:55 p.m. on Central Parkway in Medford, police said.

Juan Ramos, 43, stabbed the man in the chest and then fled as the police were called, police said. Officers located and arrested Ramos near the scene a short time later, police said.

The victim was transported via police helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition.

Ramos is charged with second degree assault and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Wednesday.

Police would not release any further information surrounding the stabbing.
