Police: Medford Man Arrested At Brentwood Sobriety Checkpoint

Nestor Trejo was one of five people arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, says Suffolk County Police.

A Medford man was among five people arrested at a Brentwood sobriety checkpoint set up by Suffolk County Police, New York State Police and Suffolk County Parks police Friday night into Saturday morning.

Nestor Trejo, 49 of Medford, was among four of those arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Also arrested for the same charge were three Brentwood residents, Isamel Diaz, 36, Eduardo Chajon, 47, and Jessica Avila-Garcia, 18.

Benito Moncion, 63 of Brentwood, was also arrested at the checkpoint and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.

Police say that the checkpoint was set up on Suffolk Avenue east of Brentwood Road, and a total of 607 vehicles went through the checkpoint. Police say that the operation was conducted for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while intoxicated.

All five individuals are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
