Police: Medford Man Arrested For Multiple Home Burglaries

Conor Douglas, 24, faces several charges after being arrested Friday morning.

A Medford man attempting to break into a home on the same street he lives on was arrested Friday morning and was later discovered to have committed four other burglaries in Medford over the last week, police said.

Conor Douglas, 24, was arrested by officers from the Fifth Precinct Gang Section and Fifth Squad Neighborhood Enforcement/Special Operations Team (NE-SOT) detectives who responded to Peconic Avenue shortly after Douglas attempted to enter a home on the street, police said.

Douglas also burglarized two homes on Long Island Avenue earlier Friday morning, police said.

Douglas was arrested without incident on Peconic Avenue at 10:31 a.m. and found to have proceeds of the two burglaries in his possession, police said.

Further investigation linked Douglas with two home burglaries on Jamaica Avenue on Aug. 28, and another home burglary on Peconic Avenue on Sept. 3, police said.

There were no injuries in any of the burglaries, police said.

Douglas is charged with four counts of second degree burglary and two counts of second degree attempted burglary. He will be held overnight at the 5th Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
