Police: Motorcyclist Dies In Medford Crash

51-year-old's motorcycle collides with vehicle.

A 51-year-old Bellport man died late Saturday night after his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle on Horseblock Road in Medford, says Suffolk County Police.

According to police, Daniel Cardona was operating a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Horseblock Road when he collided with a 2007 Chrysler, driven by Arthur White, 73 of Medford, at 10:23 p.m. Police say White was traveling westbound on Horseblock Road, attempting to turn left in front of the motorcycle.

Cardona was taken by Medford Fire Department Rescue Squad to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where we was pronounced dead. White was not injured.

The section of Horseblock Road that crosses over the Long Island Expressway was closed to traffic for several hours late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Police say both vehicles have been impounded for safety checks, and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652. All calls will be kept confidential.
