Police Seeking Man Suspected Of Throwing Glass At Victim's Face

Victim struck suffered lacerations on head and face, police said.

A man suspected of assaulting a male victim with a bottle at an East Patchogue gas station on Sept. 29 is being sought by Suffolk County Police.

According to a Thursday police announcement, the passenger of a dark gray four-door Honda sedan exited the vehicle and threw a glass bottle at the victim at the USA gas station at 1365 Montauk Highway at around 10:45 p.m. The victim was struck in the face and suffered lacerations on his head and face, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene in the car.

Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned black male, between 25-27 years of age, around 6 feet 2 inches tall and having a large gap between his top front teeth. The suspect was wearing black-rimmed eyeglasses, police said.

The vehicle the suspect fled in is described as having a sun roof and yellow New York license plates. Police say the car was last seen northbound on Amsterdam Avenue in East Patchogue.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information on this incident is being asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls are being kept confidential.
