The attack was reported in the area of Celia Street and Florence Street.

Police said the call came in around 7:22 a.m., and the pit bulls were removed by Brookhaven Town Animal Control.

A rep at Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter told Patch that the two pit bulls are awaiting their owner to redeem them, but neither dog has identification.

The extent of the injuries to the two pugs was not available.

Resident Debbie Roach wrote into Patch Wednesday morning that the Swan Lake Civic Association were able to alert parents to exercise caution at bus stops this morning.
