The attack was reported in the area of Celia Street and Florence Street.

Police said the call came in around 7:22 a.m., and the pit bulls were removed by Brookhaven Town Animal Control.

A rep at Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter told Patch that the two pit bulls are awaiting their owner to redeem them, but neither dog has identification.

The extent of the injuries to the two pugs was not available.

Resident Debbie Roach wrote into Patch Wednesday morning that the Swan Lake Civic Association were able to alert parents to exercise caution at bus stops this morning.

I like how it doesn't say it took the cops over an hour to respond. I know this cause I was one of the ones who called when they attacked my wife and my in-laws pugs.

I winder if they are the same 2 pitbulls roaming Sandspit Marina. I am not afraid of pitbulls. I am afraid of unknown dogs roaming who have the potential to do serious damage to a person or another dog.

My neighbors dogs attacked our pet's in our yard. we lost our animals and fear for our children .the village, the homeowner and the tenants have done nothing. Children in the area are afraid of the dogs. Sad. Section 8 protects the rights of these owners.
