Report: Girl Injured From Medford Boomers Rock Wall Fall

Alyssa Robb's family says she broke both feet, reports News 12.

A 10-year-old Deer Park girl's family says in a report on News 12 that their daughter recently broke both of her feet when falling off of the rock climbing wall at the Medford Boomers entertainment park.

Alyssa Robb reportedly fell 20 feet from the rock wall to the floor, and is now wearing two casts and using a wheelchair.

"I can't go in the pool, I can't like walk, I can't play with my friends," Robb said in a on-camera interview.

The Robb family's attorney said that a state investigator found that the "d-clip" attached to the child's safety line failed.

Palace Entertainment, Boomers parent company, issued a written statement to News 12 acknowledging the incident but stating that Robb fell eight feet and was not seriously hurt from the fall.

"A girl did rapidly descend approximately eight feet to the ground from our rock wall landing on her feet...She was thereafter walking around and appeared to be fine after the incident...," said Michele Wischmeyer of Palace Entertainment/Boomers in the report

Robb was taken to after the incident. Palace Entertainment says in the report that the rock climbing wall will remain closed until safety mats have been installed and the entire staff is retrained.

Robb told News 12 that she hopes to be out of her casts and walking again in a few months.
