Report: Patchogue Man Nabbed On Child Porn Charges

Homeland Security agents arrest Kevin O'Connell, an administrator with the Roosevelt School District.

A Patchogue man who works as an administrator with the Roosevelt School District was arrested Tuesday and charged with receiving child pornography, according to a report in Newsday that cited a complaint filed by a Homeland Security agent.

Kevin O’Connell, was taken into custody at his home after agents executed a search warrant Tuesday. The Newsday report said agents traced an Internet address advertising three video files available for sharing to O’Connell’s home.

According to the complaint cited by Newsday, a preliminary investigation of computer equipment in O’Connell’s home “has confirmed the presence of numerous videos of apparent child pornography.”

The report said O’Connell is a former assistant principal at Copiague High School and a former principal at Bellport High School.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at U.S. District Court in Central Islip.
