Report: Three Injured In Medford Car Crash

Crash took place at Horseblock Road and Old Medford Avenue.

Suffolk County police said three people were injured in a two-car crash Sunday morning in Medford, according to a report in Newsday.

A 2001 Jeep and a 2003 Cadillac collided around 6:52 a.m. at Old Medford Avenue and Horseblock Road, police said to Newsday.

The jeep's driver, Stephen Shanahan, 58 of Selden, was traveling east on Horseblock Road before colliding into the Cadillac driven by Kendell Owens, 29 of Middle Island. Owens was traveling with a 25-year-old woman, who was not identified and also injured.

All three were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, with serious injuries sustained by Shanahan and Owens.

Police told Newsday that a small fire on the Cadillac was caused by the crash, and that officers extinguished it.
