Welcome Home Party For Eric Carver Monday

Event taking place at Mediterranean Manor, Monday 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Update Feb. 23 1:04 p.m.: Due to the event organizers' concerns of overcrowding at the event by people who may not be attending to actually welcome Eric Carver or donate, we have removed the time information from the article but have left the RSVP information up for those who would like to contact the organizers to attend. Text has also been changed to further emphasize that the event is a fundraiser.

A welcome home party for Eric Carver is taking place at Mediterranean Manor Monday, announced the Focus East Patchogue organization in a recent email to its members.

Carver, a Air Natonal Guardsman who has been deployed in Africa, is an East Patchogue resident whose home was burglarized and set on fire on Dec. 27. Carver is the president of the Swan Lake Civic Association and is also a New York State Police trooper.

According to the email, the event will offer Carver the opportunity to thank people for their financial and emotional help during his time of need. The event is being offered by Evan Abazis, owner of the venue.

There have been several community fundraising events for Carver, and Monday's event is also one where donations are being accepted.
