Woman Driving Wrong Way on Main Street Charged with DWI, Drug Possesion

A Manorville woman was arrested Friday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of narcotic drugs after Suffolk County police saw her driving the wrong way along Main Street in Patchogue.

According to police, Brittny Fanning, 23, was driving a 2006 Ford Escape over the double yellow line at the Four Corners intersection and then began driving east in the westbound lane at 2:59 a.m.

Highway officials told Patch that Fanning's vehicle drove 500 to 600 feet before being pulled over in front of the .

Fanning received charges of driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Fanning's arraignment is taking place Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
